Lehigh Valley Jewish War Veterans

Jewish War Veterans serves the Jewish Veterans of the Lehigh Valley. JWV Post 239 is currently working to develop programs aimed at helping veterans,  including troops currently in service.  We send cards and letters written by Jewish children to active military for the holidays. There is a Service Officer to help with VA claims through the JWV Department of Pennsylvania

The Jewish War Veterans of the U.S.A. was the first veteran organization in the nation. It was founded in 1896 as the Hebrew Union Veterans after the Civil War (with six Jews receiving the Congressional Medal of Honor for bravery in that war). JWV supports Jewish troops, cadets and their families during peace and war, fighting anti-Semitism, bigotry and prejudice and assisting oppressed Jewry worldwide.

JWV Post 239 meets the second Sunday of the month at the JCC of Allentown.
