Chabad of the Lehigh Valley

The Chabad Jewish Center welcomes you and your family to the Lehigh Valley.

Chabad Lubavitch of the Lehigh Valley, an outreach Jewish organization inspired by the teachings of the Lubavitcher Rebbe, was established in January 2001 by Rabbi Yaakov & Devorah Halperin and is affiliated with Chabad of Greater Philadelphia.

Our center focuses on the spiritual and social needs of local Jews of all ages. We are currently based in Allentown and serve the communities of the entire Lehigh Valley.

We are dedicated to the furtherance of Jewish education at all levels in the hope that it will inspire you to explore your heritage and strengthen your Jewish connection. Acceptance of every Jew, regardless of background or prior experience, is the hallmark of Chabad’s philosophy.

Among the services that we offer...

“No one puts more care into the care of your child.”

Gan Israel is much more than a physical break from the school routine and winter activities. It’s a comprehensive program designed to strengthen the body and soul. It provides your child with a rich and wholesome summer vacation of fun and excitement along with friendship and meaningful educational experiences.

Imagine a Hebrew School where kids don’t want to miss a day. They come in with a smile and leave humming a Hebrew song. Walking through the halls, you can hear the sounds of lively discussion, of singing, laughter and prayer. Imagine a child who feels the warmth and spirit of Judaism. Imagine the pride of his/her parents.

Welcome to Chabad Hebrew School, an exciting and innovative educational program.

Our Hebrew School enjoys a well-earned reputation as a trendsetter in creative Jewish education for children ages four to 13. Chabad Hebrew School has exciting new programs, a dynamic staff and many new students. Our student body is made up of children from various backgrounds and affiliations and synagogue membership is not required. We have recently added two new areas in our school: an Advanced Aleph-Champ & Hebrew Language Course.

Firstly, we strive to instill in our students a strong pride in their Jewish identity. In order to foster this pride one must have knowledge of our history and the role we will play in the future as the Jewish people.

Secondly, our children must be educated Jews. They must also know the laws and customs of Jewish life so that they may in turn pass them on to their children, thereby keeping the chain of Jewish tradition alive.

Most importantly, we are proud of the warm atmosphere, creativity and innovative teaching styles that ensure that the students look forward to coming each week.

Where learning is interesting, exciting and stimulating through a hands on approach.

We provide for physical, intellectual and emotional growth through drama, visual aides, manipulatives and art. The children will be encouraged to use their senses to explore, experiment and use their imagination to the fullest.

Our curriculum is at the forefront of a constantly changing educational environment. Our children learn many skills. At the same time, they learn something more. They learn the “specialness” of being a Jew through song and dance, through stories and discussions, the precious legacy of their uniqueness as Jews is transmitted. We will be following an integrated curriculum blending Hebrew Alphabet & Judaica with the wonders of the world in which we live.

To register you child for any of these programs or for information or answers to your questions, feel free to call Chabad at 610-351-6511.
